Note To Moderator

Dear Moderator, my advanced portfolio: G324 was completed along with Jack Collier. My coursework brief was to create a promotional package for a new film with 3 seperate products (this included a film trailer, a film poster and film magazine). Throughout the construction process I myself focused more on the photos taken, the setting (mise en scene) and the orgnisation of the actors for the trailer but also with some shared use of the camera. Please feel free to use the labels on my blog to ensure easy navigation.

Construction: Film Trailer (Final)

This is myself and Jack's final constructed trailer for our film "Feared".

Ancillary: Film Poster

This is our final film poster for our trailer.

Ancillary: Magazine Front Cover

This is our final magazine front cover for our film trailer "Feared".

Question 1: In what ways does your product use, develop, and challenge media forms and conventions?

For this question I have created a presentation using the online program "Prezi". Click the link below to go straight to it.

Question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and your ancillary text?

For this question I have created a website using the online program "Wix".

Magazine 6th Draft

This is our 6th draft of our film magazine. Jack did some final tweaks to it, he added a banner at the bottom of the page with more advetising of whats inside and what the magazine has to offer, it gives the magazine more to it and it has more information on it to with therefore starts to draw the idea that it looks like a poster

Magazine 5th Draft

This is our 5th draft of our film magazine cover. This is what Jack did, he added in more text content to the sides of the page (basically some cover lines) because it was appearing as more of a film poster still rather than a film magzine.

Poster 2nd Draft

This is our second draft poster. The main changes ive made are that the 'Feared' text has been slightly adjusted so that it isnt as close to the masks chin as it was before. The other change is that the release date text has been added in the same font as the rest of the main text on the poster to give consistency to the text font which makes the poster look more 'complete'. I put a gap between the 'Feared' and the 'Out February' to make it noticeable that they are separate bits of text as if the are close they look like they are connected due to the font.

Poster Final Draft

This is our final draft of our poster for our film trailer after many other drafts with a series of changes. What I noticed is that our "Feared" font was not the same colour across all the products (the poster and magazine) and I knew that we would need to show the synergy between the products, so what I did is simply change the font colour of the Feared writing from red to white.

Magazine Cover 4th Draft

This is our 4th draft of our magazine cover. What I've done is Ive added in some diffrent text styles and used diffrent font sizes and colours to try and suit the photo and the style of the film magzine (which is horror).

Poster 1st Draft

This is the first draft of our poster, we took many photos shown in the photo shoots previous but finally chose on a photo and edited in publisher.. After mself and Jack chose an appropriate font for the writing I added and positioned the main text of the poster. We went for a blood themed font to go with the blood on the mask. The other text of the release date will be added on the next draft along with actors names.

Evaluation Update

I've completed my first question for the evaluation section of my coursework, the question I chose was, "In what ways does your product use, develop, and challenge media forms and conventions?". I decided to use the online program Prezi to complete the question and display it as I felt that it was a program that I know pretty well and that it's a creative way of displaying or communicating work.

Magazine Cover Draft 3

This is the third draft of our magazine cover. The photo was shot by myself and was chosen the shoot we did
.

Magazine Cover Draft 2

This is the second draft of the magazine cover that Jack has done. He has have done a lot of rearranging of text and changing the font styles. The photos that we shot for the purposes of this cover were done by myself, I took a range of photos so that me and Jack would have a variety to pick from .

Evaluation Planning

This a picture I took of my planning for my evaluation, it just displays various ideas for each specific question and things such as the technologies I am going to use for each question.
